Support for long-term conditions
Ayurvedic support for diabetes and lifestyle conditions in Dubai at Vaidika Ayurvedic Centre focuses on the daily habits that shape long-term health: what you eat, when you eat, how you sleep, how active you are and how you handle stress. Desk jobs, long commutes and eating out make these conditions common in the UAE. Our centre opposite Deira City Centre is opening soon, and every plan will be designed by a DHA-licensed Ayurvedic doctor after a consultation.
Ayurvedic care here is supportive. It does not replace your diabetes, cholesterol or blood pressure medicines, and you should never stop them.
Conditions we help support
- Type 2 diabetes and prediabetes, alongside your diabetes care
- Raised cholesterol
- Fatty liver
- High blood pressure
- Weight and metabolic health linked to these conditions
If weight management is your main goal, see our page on Ayurvedic weight management.
Your first consultation
Every treatment begins with a consultation with a DHA-licensed Ayurvedic doctor. It includes:
- a personalised physical assessment
- a Prakriti assessment of your constitution
- Nadi Pariksha, the traditional pulse examination
- lifestyle and dietary counselling, covering meals, activity, sleep and stress
Bring recent blood reports (such as blood sugar, HbA1c, cholesterol and liver tests), your home blood sugar or blood pressure readings, and a full list of your medicines, including insulin and supplements.
How Ayurvedic support for diabetes and lifestyle conditions in Dubai works
Depending on the assessment, a plan may include:
- A personalised diet plan, with practical choices for office life, eating out and family meals
- Daily-routine advice, including meal timing, sleep and regular activity
- Therapeutic yoga and breathing practice, adapted to your fitness and health
- Internal Ayurvedic medicines prescribed by the doctor, chosen with your current medicines in mind
- Udwarthanam: brisk massage with warm herbal powders, where weight management is part of the plan
- Abhyanga: medicated oil massage
- Panchakarma procedures, given only where the doctor considers them appropriate for your health
These may help support healthier habits, weight and wellbeing alongside your medical treatment. Results vary, and the doctor will set realistic goals with you.
Working alongside your medical care
Ayurvedic care at Vaidika works alongside your existing medical care. Please do not stop or change prescribed medicines, including insulin. Changes in diet and activity can change your blood sugar and blood pressure readings, so keep monitoring as your treating doctor advises and tell them about your Ayurvedic plan. Any change to your medicines is their decision.
When to see a doctor urgently
Seek emergency medical care if you have:
- chest pain, pressure or tightness, or pain spreading to the arm, jaw or back
- sudden weakness or numbness of the face, arm or leg, slurred speech, confusion or sudden loss of vision
- symptoms of low blood sugar (shaking, sweating, confusion) that do not settle quickly with sugar
- very high blood sugar with vomiting, drowsiness, deep or rapid breathing, or extreme thirst
- a very high blood pressure reading with a severe headache, blurred vision or breathlessness
- yellowing of the skin or eyes, vomiting blood, or black stools
- a foot wound that is not healing, or a foot that is red, hot or swollen
What a programme looks like
Lifestyle plans usually run over several months with doctor reviews. Where therapies are included, programmes commonly run for 7, 14 or 21 days, with sessions of 45 to 90 minutes. From opening day, sessions run 10:00 to 22:00, seven days a week.
The centre is opposite Deira City Centre, about two minutes from Deira City Centre Metro (Red Line). If you are coming from Sharjah, Ajman, Abu Dhabi or Oman, read our guide to planning Ayurvedic treatment in Dubai from outside the city. Some UAE insurance plans cover Ayurvedic care, and we check cover with your insurer before treatment begins. Request an appointment or message us on WhatsApp.

Questions about diabetes and lifestyle care
Can Ayurveda help with diabetes?
Ayurvedic diet, routine, yoga and medicines are traditionally used to support people living with diabetes. They do not replace your diabetes medicines or insulin, and you should keep monitoring your blood sugar as your treating doctor advises.
Should I stop my diabetes or blood pressure medicines?
No. Never stop or change prescribed medicines on your own. Ayurvedic care works alongside your existing medical care, and any change to your medicines is a decision for the doctor who prescribed them.
Will the Ayurvedic medicines interact with my current tablets?
Bring a full list of everything you take, including insulin and supplements. The doctor chooses medicines with your current treatment in mind, and you should also tell your treating doctor about the Ayurvedic plan.
Can Ayurveda help with fatty liver?
Diet, weight management, routine and activity are central to managing fatty liver, and Ayurvedic plans focus on these alongside medicines prescribed by the doctor. Liver blood tests should continue to be monitored by your treating doctor.
How long is a programme?
