Digestion at the centre
Ayurvedic treatment for acidity and gut health in Dubai at Vaidika Ayurvedic Centre starts from a core idea in Ayurveda: that healthy digestion, called Agni, supports health throughout the body. Late dinners, eating on the go, long working hours and stress are common in Dubai and often show up as heartburn, bloating or irregular bowels. Our centre opposite Deira City Centre is opening soon, and every plan will be designed by a DHA-licensed Ayurvedic doctor after a consultation.
Digestive problems we help manage
- Acidity, heartburn and indigestion
- Gastro-oesophageal reflux (GERD)
- Bloating and wind
- Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), once other causes have been ruled out
- Constipation
- Piles (haemorrhoids), with referral to medical or surgical care where indicated
Your first consultation
Every treatment begins with a consultation with a DHA-licensed Ayurvedic doctor. It includes:
- a personalised physical assessment, including your symptoms, bowel habits and any warning signs
- a Prakriti assessment of your constitution
- Nadi Pariksha, the traditional pulse examination
- lifestyle and dietary counselling, covering what and when you eat, sleep, stress and activity
Bring any reports from endoscopy, colonoscopy, scans or blood tests, and a list of your medicines. If your symptoms suggest you need medical tests first, the doctor will tell you.
How Ayurvedic treatment for acidity and gut health in Dubai works
Gut health plans lean mainly on diet and routine, supported by medicines and, where useful, therapies. Depending on the assessment, a plan may include:
- A personalised diet plan, with meal timing and practical choices for office life and eating out in Dubai
- Internal Ayurvedic medicines prescribed by the doctor
- Daily-routine advice, including sleep timing and the gap between dinner and bed
- Therapeutic yoga and breathing practice
- Abhyanga: medicated oil massage, used as part of a wider plan
- Shirodhara or Takradhara, where stress appears to play a part in your symptoms
- Vasti (medicated enemas), traditionally used in Ayurveda for constipation, given only where the doctor considers it appropriate within a Panchakarma programme
These may help with relief from symptoms such as heartburn, bloating and irregular bowels, and support more settled digestion over time. Response varies, and the doctor will review your progress and adjust the plan.
Piles and when surgery matters
The doctor may suggest internal medicines, diet and bowel-habit advice for piles. Piles that bleed heavily, prolapse and stay outside the body, or are very painful may need a surgeon’s assessment, and the doctor will refer you to medical or surgical care where this is indicated.
Working alongside your medical care
Ayurvedic care at Vaidika works alongside your existing medical care. Please do not stop prescribed medicines, including acid-reducing tablets and laxatives, without the advice of the doctor who prescribed them.
When to see a doctor urgently
Seek urgent medical care if you have:
- chest pain or pressure, which can feel like heartburn but may come from the heart
- vomiting blood, or vomit that looks like coffee grounds
- black, tarry stools, or blood in your stool
- difficulty or pain when swallowing, or food sticking on the way down
- severe or worsening abdominal pain, or abdominal pain with fever
- persistent vomiting
- unexplained weight loss, or a lasting change in your bowel habit

Questions about acidity and gut health
Can Ayurveda help with acidity and reflux?
Ayurvedic medicines, diet and meal-timing advice are traditionally used in the management of acidity and reflux, and may help with relief from symptoms. Ongoing or severe reflux should also be assessed by a medical doctor.
Can I keep taking my acid-reducing tablets?
Yes. Ayurvedic care works alongside your existing medical care. Do not stop prescribed medicines; any change should be made by the doctor who prescribed them.
Do you help with IBS?
Yes, once other causes of your symptoms have been ruled out medically. IBS plans usually combine diet, routine, medicines and support for stress, which often affects the gut.
Do you treat piles?
The doctor may suggest internal medicines, diet and bowel-habit advice for piles. Piles that bleed heavily, stay outside the body or are very painful may need a surgeon's assessment, and the doctor will refer you where this is indicated. Rectal bleeding should always be checked by a medical doctor.
How long does a gut health plan take?
Digestive plans usually run over several weeks with doctor reviews. Where therapies are included, they commonly run for 7, 14 or 21 days, with sessions of 45 to 90 minutes.
