Skin conditions, seen as a whole

Ayurvedic treatment for psoriasis and eczema in Dubai at Vaidika Ayurvedic Centre looks beyond the patch of skin you can see. Ayurveda links long-term skin conditions with digestion, stress, sleep and constitution, and the dry air of air-conditioned rooms, heat and hard water in the UAE often add to the problem. Our centre opposite Deira City Centre is opening soon, and every plan will be designed by a DHA-licensed Ayurvedic doctor after a consultation.

Conditions we help manage

  • Psoriasis, including scalp psoriasis
  • Eczema (atopic dermatitis) and very dry, itchy skin
  • Contact dermatitis and seborrhoeic dermatitis
  • Urticaria (hives) and recurring itchy rashes
  • Skin that flares with stress, heat or seasonal change

For acne, pigmentation and general skin care, see our page on skin and hair.

Your first consultation

Every treatment begins with a consultation with a DHA-licensed Ayurvedic doctor. It includes:

  • a personalised physical assessment, including a look at the affected skin
  • a Prakriti assessment of your constitution
  • Nadi Pariksha, the traditional pulse examination
  • lifestyle and dietary counselling, covering food, sleep, stress and skin-care habits

Bring a list of the creams and medicines you use, any reports from your skin doctor, and photographs of how your skin has looked during flares if you have them.

How Ayurvedic treatment for psoriasis and eczema in Dubai works

Depending on your skin and the assessment, a plan may include:

  • Takradhara: medicated buttermilk poured in a steady stream over the forehead and scalp, traditionally used for scalp psoriasis and stress-related flares
  • Lepanam: herbal pastes applied to affected areas of skin
  • Abhyanga: application and massage with medicated oils chosen for your skin type
  • Panchakarma procedures, given only where the doctor considers them appropriate
  • Internal Ayurvedic medicines prescribed by the doctor
  • Diet and daily-routine advice, including bathing, moisturising and sleep
  • Shirodhara or therapeutic yoga where stress appears to play a part

Oils and pastes are chosen for your skin, and if anything irritates it, tell us and the doctor will change the plan. These therapies may help with relief from itching, dryness and scaling, and support fewer or milder flares. Psoriasis and eczema are long-term conditions, and the aim is ongoing management rather than a quick fix.

Working alongside your medical care

Ayurvedic care at Vaidika works alongside your existing medical care. Please do not stop prescribed creams, tablets or injections; any change should only be made by the doctor who prescribed them. If you have psoriasis and notice painful, swollen joints, mention it to your GP or treating doctor, as it may need separate assessment.

When to see a doctor urgently

Seek urgent medical care if you have:

  • red, inflamed skin over most of your body, especially with chills or feeling unwell
  • widespread pus-filled spots with fever
  • hives with swelling of the lips, tongue, face or throat, or difficulty breathing
  • skin that becomes hot, painful and increasingly red, or oozes pus, especially with fever
  • sudden painful clusters of blisters or open sores on eczema-affected skin

What a programme looks like

Programmes commonly run for 7, 14 or 21 days of therapy, with sessions of 45 to 90 minutes, followed by medicines, diet and home care with regular doctor reviews. Skin changes slowly, so the doctor will set expectations honestly at the start. From opening day, sessions run 10:00 to 22:00, seven days a week.

The centre is opposite Deira City Centre, about two minutes from Deira City Centre Metro (Red Line). Some UAE insurance plans cover Ayurvedic care, and we check cover with your insurer before treatment begins. Request an appointment or message us on WhatsApp.

Questions about psoriasis and eczema

Can Ayurveda help with psoriasis?

Psoriasis is a long-term condition that tends to come and go. Ayurvedic therapies, medicines and diet are traditionally used in its management and may help with relief from itching, scaling and flare-ups. We do not promise clear skin; the doctor will explain what is realistic for you.

Can I continue my creams and tablets?

Yes. Ayurvedic care works alongside your existing medical care. Do not stop prescribed creams, tablets or injections; any change should be made by the doctor who prescribed them.

How long before I notice a change?

Skin changes slowly. A therapy course commonly runs 7, 14 or 21 days, followed by medicines, diet and home care with doctor reviews. The doctor will set expectations honestly at the consultation.

What is Takradhara?

Takradhara is a therapy in which medicated buttermilk is poured in a steady stream over the forehead and scalp. It is traditionally used for scalp psoriasis, dry and itchy scalp, and stress, which often plays a part in skin flares.

Does diet matter for eczema and psoriasis?

In Ayurveda, digestion and diet are closely linked with the skin. The doctor will give you practical diet and routine advice, and may ask you to keep a record of foods and situations that seem to trigger flares.

Is treatment covered by insurance?

Some UAE insurance plans cover Ayurvedic care. We check cover with your insurer before treatment begins.
