A doctor-led approach to pain
Back pain, neck stiffness and aching knees are among the most common reasons people visit our Deira centre. Ayurveda approaches them by treating the tissues and the underlying imbalance, not just the site of pain. Every plan starts with a consultation in which the doctor examines you, reviews your scans and reports, and chooses the therapies that fit your condition.
Conditions we help manage
- Lower back pain and lumbar stiffness
- Neck pain, cervical spondylosis and tech-neck
- Sciatica and disc-related pain
- Knee pain and early osteoarthritis
- Frozen shoulder and shoulder stiffness
- Rheumatoid and other inflammatory joint conditions, alongside your rheumatologist’s care
- Sports and repetitive-strain injuries
Therapies used in our pain programmes
- Kati Vasti, Greeva Vasti and Janu Vasti: warm medicated oil is pooled over the lower back, neck or knee inside a dough ring for 30 to 45 minutes.
- Elakizhi and Njavara Kizhi: warm herbal poultices applied over painful areas.
- Abhyanga with Swedana: medicated oil massage followed by herbal steam.
- Pizhichil: continuous warm oil pouring for widespread stiffness.
- Vasti (medicated enemas): considered the principal Ayurvedic procedure for spine and joint conditions, used within a Panchakarma programme.
- Internal medicines, diet and exercise advice to support the therapies.
What a programme looks like
Most pain programmes at Vaidika run daily for 7 to 14 days, with each session lasting 60 to 90 minutes. The doctor reviews you during the course and sets home advice for after it ends. Because we are open until 22:00 every day, sessions can be scheduled after work. Request an appointment or message us on WhatsApp with a brief description of your pain.

Questions about pain and joint care
Can Ayurveda help with lower back pain?
Ayurvedic therapies such as Kati Vasti, Kizhi and Vasti are widely used in the management of lower back pain and stiffness. The doctor will assess whether your pain is suitable and what to expect.
Should I stop physiotherapy or painkillers?
No. Ayurvedic treatment can run alongside physiotherapy and your existing medication. Tell the doctor what you are taking so the plan is safe.
How many sessions are needed for back pain?
Most plans run 7 to 14 daily sessions, sometimes 21 for long-standing problems, followed by a review and home advice.
Do you treat sciatica and disc problems?
Our doctors see many people with sciatica and disc-related pain. Bring your MRI or X-ray reports so the plan takes the diagnosis into account.
Is treatment available in the evening?
Yes. We are open until 22:00 every day, so daily sessions can be booked after work.
Is Ayurvedic pain treatment covered by insurance?
Some UAE plans cover Ayurvedic consultations and therapies. Send us your insurance card on WhatsApp and we will confirm cover before you start.
